New Mexico has become the first US State to sue Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi over the infamous emissions scandal.
The statement that was made is as follows: “Supported by a massive advertising campaign, defendants claimed that superior engineering allowed their cars to perform better, consume less fuel and emit fewer harmful pollutants than diesel cars of the past, making them a great fit for eco-conscious consumers. In fact, the complete opposite was true.”
The state argues that around 4000-10,000 vehicles were sold in New Mexico that included defeat devices, and they want maximum financial return for the taxpayers.
