When the vehicle in a movie
overshadows the star itself, you know you have an incredible movie car. There
are endless cars in movies but we’re counting down the top ten most iconic cars
- the best of the best.
Here’s our top ten, in no
particular order.
Aston Martin DB5, Goldfinger

The Aston Martin DB5 is arguably the
most famous James Bond car, first appearing in Goldfinger. The car is a beloved
movie car thanks to Oscar winning special effects expert John Stears, who
equipped the car with many gadgets like smoke screens and machine guns. Two
were made for production, one with the gadgets and one without.
DeLorean DMC-12, Back to the Future

Despite the movie’s success, DeLorean
flopped in the market. Nevertheless, the car gained a cult following due to its
unique and futuristic design. As the car was a time machine in the movie, the specifications
didn't really matter – that being said, the engine was replaced from a slow V6
with a V8 engine they got from a Porsche 928.
Batmobile/Tumbler, Batman Begins

There have been a handful of Batman
movies and in each, the Batmobile has evolved and remained beyond cool and
stylish. The latest adaption, the Dark Knight trilogy, the Batmobile is a
beastly cross between a tank and a Lamborghini known as the 'Tumbler'. Made out of
more than 65 carbon-fiber panels and with the capability to get to 60mph in 5
seconds, the Batmobile is modern day masterpiece. And as a bonus, it’s 100%
real. No CGI trickery!
Volkswagen Bus, Little Miss

Little Miss Sunshine is a classic –
a story of a dysfunctional family travelling to a beauty pageant. The yellow Volkswagen
bus that is used to travel in has become iconic since the movie’s release. The
bus was chosen by the director based on his past experiences.
Lincoln Continental, The Godfather

The Godfather is famous for being
one of the greatest films ever made and stars legends such as Marlon Brando, Al
Pacino and Robert Duvall. One of the most famous scenes is when Sonny Corleone is
shot to death outside of his Lincoln Continental. It’s arguably the best car in
the all time classic.
Mini Cooper, The Italian Job

“You were only supposed to blow the
bloody doors off!” said famously by Michael Caine in The Italian Job,
considered to be one of the best British movies ever made. A fleet of Mini
Coopers is used to transport the stolen gold out of the city and is also part
of the famous chase scene.
Ferrari 250 GT California, Ferris
Bueller’s Day Off

In the film, Bueller convinces his
best friend to borrow his dad’s rare 1969 Ferrari 250 GT California. Even though
the Ferrari used in the movie was just a replica, it was loved by fans and the
movie was a success.

The most memorable car from the Mad
Max franchise, the Ford XB Falcon, is used by Max in the film. Known as either
the ‘Pursuit Special’ or ‘V8 Interceptor’, the car is an iconic vehicle.
Dodge Charger, The Dukes of Hazzard

Named the 'General Lee' or simply as the 'The General', the car is
famously known for its signature horn, long jumps and the doors being welded shut
leaving the characters to climb in and out through the windows.

Nicknamed the ‘Striped Tomato’, the bright red Gran Torino with white stripes might have not been completely appropriate as an undercover cop car, but
