It has been reported that Jeremy Clarkson’s law firm has registered
the trademark ‘Gear Knobs’, ‘Gear Nobs’ and ‘Speedbird’ just before the
announcement was made that the former Top Gear Trio, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard
Hammond and James May, had been signed on for a new series on Amazon Prime.
Reportedly, the trademark allows Clarkson to use the name
for a number of things, from merchandising to naming a television programme. Rumour has it that ‘Speedbird’ may
be the new name for a ‘Stig’ like character on the show.
It was reported earlier this month that the show will be one
of the most expensive UK TV shows ever, with a whopping budget of £160 million,
averaging out to £4.6 million per episode.
The show will premiere late next year.
