There have been plenty of cars
debuting at this year Frankfurt Motor Show, from the likes of BMW to Mercedes. We
count down the top 5 best cars so far
Alfa Romeo Giulia
The Alfa Romeo Giulia was one of
the most anticipated cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car was unveiled
earlier this year but was showcased on Alfa Romeo’s stand at the show. It will
arrive in 2016.
The car has an impressive 3.0 litre
V6 turbo and is able to hit 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds, highlighting that the
car manufacturer have worked hard to make the new model the fastest car in its
class. Alfa are debuting eight new models,
due by 2018.
Renault Megane
The fourth generation Renault
Megane was showcased at the show, and will go on sale at the end of this year.
With the front styled after the Renault Talisman and the rear end taking
inspiration from the Clio and Kadjar, the car is a competitor to the Ford
Focus.
The car is said to be sportier and
higher quality to rival cars like the Volkswagen Golf and Peugeot 306.
Vauxhall Astra
Another car that debuted at the
Frankfurt Motor Show is the new Vauxhall Astra. Far more stylish and desirable,
the car features Vauxhall’s ‘OnStar’ road assistance, a 4G mobile data hotspot
and applications such as Spotify, Whatsapp, and Skype can be used through the
car’s interface.
The car comes in various different
types of engines, from 1.0 litre to a powerful 1.6 litre and an all new 1.4
litre ECOTEC turbo unit.
Rolls-Royce Dawn
The sleek new convertible made its
debut at the show this week. With brightly coloured interior and wood design,
the car is powered with a 6.6 litre turbo V12 which Rolls states is ‘the quietest
cloth-roof car on sale’.
It’s due to arrive for sale next
year.
Porsche Mission E
Porsche showcase their concept car,
the Mission E, this week at the show. Porsche stated that the ‘the future of
the electric sports car’, is in the form of the ‘Mission E’, a four door, four
seat saloon.
With plans for the car to arrive in
2017, the Mission E is inspired by previous models 918 and Panamera. The car is
to rival other models such as Tesla Model S and Audi e-Tron SUV concept.
